Two of America’s greatest adult cartoons are joining forces. Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane is set to lend his voice to a character in The Simpsons.
MacFarlane is set to lend his voice to a character which will be featured in the Fox 2013 premiere of The Simpsons, Reuters reports. MacFarlane will voice a married man pursuing blue-haired mama Marge Simpson after the two reportedly hit it off in an Internet chat room.
Although both hit cartoons appear on the same network, Family Guy and The Simpsons have long been noted as rivals. According to Entertainment Wise, The Simpsons creator Matt Groening took a jab at MacFarlane and his show Family Guy insisting plagiarism.
However, the two show creators insist there is no bad blood between the two.
Al Jean, executive producer of The Simpsons, released a statement according to Perez Hilton which says: “There’s been a little rivalry. We’re both humor shows and we make jokes, but it’s always been friendly…We thought we had a great part that he’d be perfect for, and it would be great to have him on our show, so it worked out just right."
