A first look at season 3 of HBO’s Game of Thrones was released on Sunday.
The video aired right before the season finale of Boardwalk Empire on HBO Sunday, according to TV Line.
The behind-the-scenes video teases some of the locations in which the show has been filming: Iceland, Northern Ireland, Dubrovnik (Croatia) and Morocco. It gives a few glances at some new and old characters, as well as the new costumes. Cast members Richard Madden, Peter Dinklage, Maisie Williams, and Emilia Clarke also talk about the season.
Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen, says of season 3 in the clip, "The game's been upped. There's so much more danger, so much more risk."
Executive producers/writers/directors David Benioff and D. B. Weiss are very excited for the third season.
"We always envisioned season three as sort of the place we needed to get," Weiss says in the clip. "If we made it through season three, if we could do season three right, then it would all be worthwhile."
The show added 14 new cast members in July, as we previously reported. One of the new cast members is Diana Rigg playing Lady Olenna Tyrell or The Queen of Thorns, as she is also known.
Some of the new cast introduce themselves in the video below:
