Five 'Les Miserables' clips come online showcasing diverse singing skills of whole cast

By Matthew Dougherty ,

You can watch a little over five minutes of Tom Hooper’s upcoming musical Les Miserables that showcase the singing capabilities of Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway and more.

Entertainment Weekly has the five clips featuring the ensemble cast in the film from the director of The King’s Speech. Only Hugh Jackman is featured in more than one of them.

According to Cinema Blend, the actors are singing live on set without the benefit of redubbing the vocals in post production, a move many are calling bold.

The film stars Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen and newcomer Samantha Barks.

When it was initially screened for an audience in New York City, it was given a standing ovation.

Since then, the film has entered the Oscar conversation in a big way, with many calling it a surefire for a Best Picture nomination.

Les Miserables hits theaters December 25.
