Fleetwood Mac has confirmed that they will kick off a nine-week tour in April 2013.
According to Rolling Stone, the tour will first kick off in Columbus, Ohio and then travel around throughout the USA and Canada.
Stevie Nicks states, “It's the perfect time to go back out. 2013 is going to be the year of Fleetwood Mac."
Fans can expect to hear some of the best and greatest of Fleetwood Mac as the band is touring without the release of a new album. Lindsey Buckingham explains, “We always have to play 'Dreams,' 'Rhiannon,' 'Don't Stop,' 'Tusk,' 'Big Love,' 'Landslide' and all our most famous songs. When you've gone through all your must-do's, that's 75% of your potential setlist. I think with the other 25%, there are areas of our catalog that are more under-explored. Maybe we'll play more songs from Tusk.”
There may be a new song or two that is added to their set list, which will be determined when they begin rehearsal February 5.
In addition, he adds, “I'd also like to see an extended middle portion of the show that's just me and Stevie. This is just me talking from the top of my head. For now, I have no particular vision of what this tour is going to be."
Buckingham and Nicks will put their differences aside to take on the tour, USA Today reports. Buckingham notes of the tension between he and Nicks, “We are a cast of characters who never really belonged in the same band in the first place.”
Noting, “The synergy works, and I'm looking forward to seeing where the mines lie in the field this time. It wouldn't be a band without that tension. All the same things kick in. I know what I'm supposed to do. I know whose face to get in to make things happen. All those roles are so familiar. I'm ready to pick up the dice and roll again."
Rolling Stones reports that Fleetwood Mac will hit Philadelphia then onto New York, Washington D.C, Ontario, Las Vegas, NV, New Jersey, Vancouver, San Jose, California among many, many other great cities.
