Britney Spears has now been named the highest paid musician of 2012.
The singer and new X Factor judge made $58 million over this past year, beating out every other woman in the music business.
The majority of her money earned comes from touring in support of her album Femme Fatale, which became a certified platinum hit in the U.S. The other millions of dollars come from a fragrance deal with Elizabeth Arden as well as other endorsements, Forbes reports.
Spears barely beat out another big name in the industry, 22-year-old Taylor Swift, who raked in $57 million this past year and lands in the No. 2 spot on Forbes’ list. She has deals with Sony and CoverGirl, and her tour makes over $1 million per night. Her newest album Red was the biggest of the year, and the biggest for any artist since 2002.
Rounding out the top three is Rihanna, who had a busy year with her new album Unapologetic and made $53 million. No. 4 is Lady Gaga, who made $52 million and Katy Perry follows along at No. 5 with $45 million.
Zap2it reports that Madonna, Beyonce and Nicki Minaj are the only other females on the list of the 25 highest-earning musicians of the year.
