Harvard gets BDSM club

Kinky sex club joins the ranks of Harvard

There are 15 new sanctioned student organizations at Harvard, arguably the most prestigious American university. In addition to the Harvard College Comics Club, the Harvard Undergraduate Mathematics Association, the university will officially welcome Harvard College Munch, a BDSM club.

According to Harvard's newspaper, The Harvard Crimson, the club has just gained official status, but it has been meeting at meals for nearly a year. The club has roughly 30 members.

“It’s a little hyperbolic for me to get teary-eyed and paternal about sophomores, but it’s really a joy to see the experience they will have now,” the club's founder Michael said. He was granted anonymity when speaking to the Crimson.

“If you come to campus and you have the sexual interests we represent, you may not even suspect that such a group exists."

Being an official club means that the group can promote their events on campus and petition for DAPA food grants, which would make meetings more convenient. However, the biggest benefit is legitimacy.

“The college does not endorse the views or activities of any independent student organization,” Harvard spokesman Jeff Neal told FoxNews.com. “Rather, it ensures that independent student organizations remain in compliance with all applicable provisions of the Handbook for Students.”

From their side, they do not condone the acts or deeds that the club emphasized, but student organizations are meant to provide a supportive group setting. What do you think? Is a kinky sex club too much for Harvard?
