Former president Bill Clinton will be the subject of an HBO documentary directed and produced by Martin Scorsese.
Clinton will be involved in the project, giving his views on, of course, politics, as well as history, culture and the world.
In a statement, the 42nd president of the United States says "I am pleased that legendary director Martin Scorsese and HBO have agreed to do this film," adding, "I look forward to sharing my perspective on my years as president, and my work in the years since, with HBO's audience,” USA Today reports.
Meanwhile, Scorsese released his own statement, seeming to be just as excited to work with Clinton as Clinton is to work with him.
“A towering figure who remains a major voice in world issues, President Clinton continues to shape the political dialogue both here and around the world," Scorsese in the statement. "Through intimate conversations, I hope to provide greater insight into this transcendent figure."
The New York Daily News reports that the documentary will be made with “full cooperation” from Clinton.
"This documentary, under Marty's gifted direction, creates a unique opportunity for the president to reflect on myriad issues that have consumed his attention and passion throughout both his presidency and post-presidency,” say HBO executives Richard Plepler and Michael Lombardo.
