Hugh Grant responds to Jon Stewart's remarks about his 2009 interview

By Sarah Burbank-Douglas,

It has been three years since Hugh Grant appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and recently the Comedy Central host blasted the Love Actually actor saying he was a diva and would never invite him back to the show.

The statements from Stewart came during an interview with fellow Comedy Central host Steven Colbert. As we previously reported, Stewart proclaimed that Grant, although appearing calm and collected during the interview, was actually hell to be around prior to filming.

“He's giving everyone s*** the whole time, and he's a big pain in the a**," Stewart explained at the time.

Now the British actor is responding to these claims via Twitter.

According to E! News, Grant took to the social media site not to defend himself, but to acknowledge the pain he had been while promoting his film, Did You Hear About The Morgans? costarring Sarah Jessica Parker.

“Turns out my inner crab got the better of me with TV producer in 09. Unforgivable. J Stewart correct to give me kicking,” Grant tweeted Thursday.

It is unclear if Stewart will respond to Grant’s tweet or if his acknowledgement will allow Stewart to reconsider inviting the romantic-comedy guru back for a second chance.
