Hugh Jackman has been getting Oscar buzz for his starring role in Les Miserables, but the actor has just officially signed on to another exciting project – X Men: Days of Future Past.
Director Bryan Singer confirmed the casting in a tweet, writing “I would officially like to welcome @RealHughJackman to the cast of #Xmen Days of Future Past. Very excited! More to come...”

Jackman, 44, will be reprising his role as Wolverine in the X Men movie, Just Jared reports, which is the sequel to X-Men: First Class, which Jackman appeared in very briefly.
This new X Men film is based on the Days of Future Past comic book issues #141 and #142, and it’s being written by Simon Kinberg.
Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart will return to this project as Magneto and Professor X and Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicolas Hoult will also return, Deadbolt reports.
The film will hit theaters July 18, 2014.
