Jenni Rivera public memorial service slated for Wednesday

By Sarah Burbank-Douglas,

A memorial for Mexican-America singer Jenni Rivera is set to take place Wednesday in Los Angeles.

The memorial will follow her Tuesday Long Beach funeral, E! News reports, in a memorial called “A Celestial Graduation.”

According to the report, the memorial will take place Wednesday at Los Angeles’ Gibson Amphitheater from 10 a.m. to noon.

The Rivera family released a statement on behalf of the memorial, stating, “We will celebrate the graduation into heaven, with honors, of our beloved mother, daughter and sister Jenni Rivera. The Rivera family appreciates all the love given to our beloved Jenni Rivera, who graduated on December 9th and now rests in the arms of our Lord."

Rivera, 46, died December 9, following a tragic plane accident. Her plane went missing 60 miles after take-off and was found only hours later.

Their family requests that in lieu with flowers, fans make a donation to Rivera’s Love Foundation. Fans can also bring a single white rose in memory of the late singer.
