While the nation mourns last weeks devastating events of Newtown, CT, celebrities are gathering together to demand a plan of action to end gun violence.
In a newly released clip, nearly two dozen celebrities from Jon Hamm to Beyonce, Reese Witherspoon to Joel McHale, and many others have come together to discuss a plan to end gun violence, E! News reports. According to the report, the two dozen celebs recount the tragic events from 1999’s high school shootings in Columbine, to Virginia Tech, Aurora leading up to last week’s tragedy which took the lives of 20 children and six adults.
Each celebrity has come forward to support Demand a Plan, a campaign partnered with Mayors Against Illegal Guns, E! notes. The campaign aims to "prevent future tragedies by passing common sense legislation.”
The campaign's website details the plan behind Demand a Plan which will require a background check, ban assault weapons, and turn gun trafficking into “a federal crime.”
The website offers those wanting to make a change a petition to sign which will go to both the mayors of your state as well to President Barack Obama.
