Jessica Chastain doesn't want to 'let anyone down' when she juggles awards season with Broadway commitments

By Gina DiFalco,

Jessica Chastain is one busy actress, as she’s currently starring in Broadway’s The Heiress until Feb. 13. This will unfortunately coincide with awards season, as it was already announced she’s been nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in Zero Dark Thirty.

Chastain confesses her understudy will likely have to fill in for her a few times as she can’t be in two places at once – fulfilling her Broadway duties in New York and being at the Golden Globes in California.

"I don't want to let anyone down," she told USA Today.

"However, we have a really great group of people and (they are) so supportive. I'm stressed out about the possibility of missing a show, but I have an amazing, amazing understudy and I'm really proud of her for being able to make her Broadway debut, because she's incredibly talented."

Contact Music reports that she also explained how excited she is to dress up for awards season.

"I never got invited to my prom at my school, so I never had the opportunity to dress up when I was younger,” she said. “And now being able to go to the Golden Globes, it just means not only is it such a beautiful thing to be recognized for playing this incredible woman, Maya, now it's like, 'I get to wear pretty dresses...!'"
