Duchess Kate Middleton made her first public appearance since announcing her pregnancy Sunday night at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards in London.
Middleton presented the Lifetime Achievement Award with David Beckham to Sebastian Cole, the recently-elected chairman of the British Olympic Association and two-time Olympic middle-distance champion, and the sports personality award to Tour de France champion Bradley Wiggins, according to Today News.
The Duchess wore a dark green Alexander McQueen dress to present and stayed at the gala for less than an hour. Although Middleton did not speak while presenting, she did talk with honorees at the award ceremony.
According to the NY Daily News, Middleton attended the gala alone while husband Prince William reportedly stayed at their farmhouse in Anglesey, North Wales. The English prince is currently on duty as an RAF Search and Rescue Pilot.
The appearance also marked the first time the Duchess stepped back into the public eye since being hospitalized Dec. 3. The Duchess of Cambridge spent three nights at King Edward VII Hospital due to acute morning sickness.
Middleton is 12 weeks pregnant with her and Prince William’s first child.
