Fashion supermodel Kate Moss is the new celebrity face for luxe shoe designer Stuart Weitzman. Moss recently had a photo shoot to promote the brands Spring 2013 line.
Weitzman praised Moss for her talents; he recently told People magazine that “Obviously she’s a professional.” The shoe designer went on to say how Moss perfected nearly every shot the first time around and how there were very little re-do’s at the shoot.
Moss as the face of Weitzman will mark history in her career as her first American-designed shoe contract.
The photographer for the shoot was renowned photographer Mario Testino. Allegedly, it was Testino who brought Moss to Weitzman and landed the contract for her. Weitzman recently told New York Magazine, “He brought her up, and I thought, Well, I don’t remember seeing too many bad pictures of her, so yeah!” The rest is history.
Weitzman suggested in the interview with NY Magazine that there is a special chemistry between Moss and Testino that produces amazing photos. “When Testino wanted a pose, she knew exactly how to give it to him. We only had one retake out of six shoots. That’s not normal.
Weitzman goes on to admire Moss’s down-to-earth personality, “Yeah, she’s really a very nice girl. She’s got her feet on the ground. Girls who go through the trials that she went through seven or eight years ago — if they handle that as well as she did, they’ll end up very sound individuals. She’s a good example.
Excerpts from the shoot are featured in the latest ad campaign for the brand.
