Titanic actress Kate Winslet has received a ticket to space from Sir Richard Branson, a $200,000 gift, which will send the newlywed actress to outer space via a Virgin Galactic flight.
According to Telegraph, the ticket from Branson, the uncle of Winslet’s new husband Ned Rocknroll, is said to be a gift on behalf of both their wedding and Winslet’s heroic acts when she saved Branson's 90-year-old mother from a 4 a.m. blaze.
The fire occurred back in August 2011 during their vacation in the British Virgin Islands.
The space adventure will take two hours and take the actress 60 miles above the Earth. Winslet will experience “weightlessness” and will travel at roughly 2500mph and “three times the speed of sound.”
Branson previously spoke about Winslet’s desire to go into space saying, "I'm not sure she wants to go on a one-way trip to Mars, but she wants to go into space."
Branson hopes to get the flights started sometime next year.
