Kathie Lee Gifford's 'Scandalous' to end its Broadway run

By Gina DiFalco,

Today show co-host Kathie Lee Gifford’s Broadway show Scandalous: The Life and Trials of Aimee Semple McPherson will be closing.

The last performance of the musical will be on Sunday, December 9 at 3pm.
According to BroadwayWorld, the show will have done 31 previews and 29 regular shows at the end of its run.

Gifford talked about it with her co-host, Hoda Kotb, on her NBC show on Wednesday morning, saying “I'm prejudiced of course. I'm the mother of this show," adding, "Hurricane Sandy was just devastating to everyone in the tri-state area. But Broadway was badly hit... nobody has really recovered. The new shows haven't, LA Times reports.

She also said about the show, which received some negative reviews, “It's taken awhile to find our audience because no one knows what our show was."

Scandalous was Gifford’s first Broadway effort and it was partly financially backed by The Foursquare Foundation.
