Katie Holmes, Tom Cruise step out for first time on the red carpet since divorce to promote projects

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes made separate red carpet debuts for the first time since their divorce.

Cruise stepped out to promote his new action film, Jack Reacher, in London looking happy and confident, Access Hollywood reports. In addition to the upcoming debut of Jack Reacher, the 50-year-old actor hasn’t slowed down as he is also working on filming sc-fi adventure film, Oblivion, slated for 2013.

Also gracing the public eye was Holmes who is fresh off the Broadway stage where she will be performing in Dead Accounts. According to the report, Holmes donned a stunning purple dress by Vivienne Westwood for her appearance at the “Champagne and Caroling” Gala where she took in performances of young theater students.

Sarah Stipe, a 19-year-old theater student, tells People, “She was just really happy to be here and felt blessed. She had a genuine happiness about her and was just loving the [theater] environment."

Stipe gushes, "I was nervous [to meet her]…but she was really sweet, so it was fine. She's really beautiful – and really tall!"

Jack Reacher is slated to hit theaters December 21. Dead Accounts is on Broadway from now until February 24.
