Comedian Katt Williams can add one more legal issue to the mounting list that has grown over the past month. On Friday, he was arrested in connection to his police chase in Sacramento, CA last month.
KCRA reported that the Sacramento DA had issued an arrest warrant on Thursday, charging Williams for reckless driving. The chase occurred on Nov. 25, when California Highway Patrol spotted him driving a three-wheeled motorcycle down a sidewalk. When officers approached, he refused to stop and went off. CHP said that he nearly hit five people during the chase.
On Friday, Williams was arrested by Yolo County Sheriffs in Dunnigan, CA, reports KRCA. He was supposed to have a show in Houston Friday night, but that was cancelled.
As we previously reported earlier this week, Williams was seen on camera slapping a Target employee in the face. The employee called police, but Williams had left the store by the time they arrived. No charges were filed in that case yet.
TMZ reports that his arrest Friday is just the latest in a string of recent problems for Williams. He was involved in a bar fight and faces a lawsuit over a rant during a performance.
He also said this week that he plans on retiring from standup.
