Katy Perry has been preparing for the holiday season since October 1st, and now that Christmas is a little over two weeks away, she’s revealing her favorite holiday traditions and memories.
In a new interview with USA Weekend Perry, 28, reveals that even though she’s a “California Gurl,” she does enjoy a good Christmas sweater party, and even snow once in awhile. Perry, who grew up in Santa Barbara, also enjoys her family time. Time spent opening gifts and watching Home Alone.
“We’re the type of family who opens up one Christmas present the night before,” she shared. She’s learned, though, that the best gift isn’t always the biggest. “If you pick the huge one, it was always a box within a box within a box — so a pair of socks, basically.”
Gift giving isn’t the only thing she enjoys about Christmastime, she also looks forward to the Home Alone marathon every year.
“Home Alone [ is my must see Christmas movie]. I love when the mom goes, ‘Uh, did we forget something? Kevin!’ We have it on replay and everyone watches it forever.”
Katy’s Christmas will be a little different this year, though. Her cousin recently had a baby girl named Kai. She introduced her to her fans on Twitter on Thanksgiving. She is the first baby in her family in 24 years.
Perry told Sugarscape, before the baby’s arrival, that this year, “All eyes will be on that little baby girl.”
