Fans of Kevin Smith may have to say goodbye to one of the most popular cult filmmakers of our time, as the writer/director says that Clerks 3 will be his final film.
The man himself revealed it on his Twitter account, also speaking of his proposed hockey film Hit Somebody.
“So with the HIT SOMEBODY shift, the minute Jeff Anderson signs on, my last cinematic effort as writer/director will be CLERKS III. #TaDa,” Smith said.
According to Indie Wire, the filmmaker previously said that Hit Somebody would become a miniseries comprising of six hour long episodes.
The hockey film was originally supposed to be a two part movie, but then got turned into a single film.
Smith had previously said that the film would take place over a 30 year time period.
The previous Clerks films came out in 1994 and 2006 respectively.
There is no word yet on when Hit Somebody may hit television or when Clerks 3 would hit the big screen.
