Kristen Stewart stars in the Walter Salles-directed film, On the Road alongside Sam Riley and Garrett Hedlund. Although the Twilight actress admits that watching herself have fake-sex on screen in the adventure film is quite “ridiculous,” it was the dancing scene that had her terrified.
Stewart expresses that the Jack Kerouac book in which the film is based off of, describes her character as a sexually-free young woman, saying it opened a lot of doors for her in the world of reading.
As for her sexual on-screen dancing, she admits, “The dancing scene was so much more terrifying than any of the sex scenes were for me. I was so scared of it." Stewart also discussed having to have fake sex on camera, telling Indiewire that although she finds watching herself have sex “ridiculous,” she was captivated by the character.
“I think if you were to isolate the scenes, it's fairly ridiculous watching yourself fake have sex. But within the movie, watching the movie, I do get so caught up in this one. I've seen it three times, and that’s not typical for me,” she explains.
On the Road is currently showing in limited release.
