The always outspoken Courtney Love is now commenting on Paul McCartney filling in for her late husband Kurt Cobain at the Hurricane Sandy benefit concert last night.
Nirvana reunited on stage for the first time in 20 years, and they had the former Beatle fill in for Cobain.
Love told TMZ she is "not amused" that McCartney joined original Nirvana members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic and newer member Pat Smear on stage.
She would much rather have preferred John Lennon, as she said "Look, if John were alive it would be cool."
EW reports that Love also noted she wasn’t happy with Grohl and Novoselic calling the performance a “Nirvana reunion” because she thinks her late husband was the “heart and soul” of the band.
Despite Love’s opinion, the show went on last night and the musicians debuted a new song called “Cut Me Some Slack.”
As we previously reported, when Grohl first asked McCartney to play with them, the former Beatle admitted “I didn’t really know who they were. They are saying how good it is to be back together. I said ‘Whoa? You guys haven’t played together for all that time?” adding, “And somebody whispered to me ‘That’s Nirvana. You’re Kurt.’ I couldn’t believe it.”
