Man charged with trying to enter Taylor Swift’s Nashville home, says he wanted to give her a birthday surprise

A man was arrested in Nashville overnight for allegedly trying to enter Taylor Swift’s home.

According to Nashville’s NewsChannel5, Jacob Kulke, 24 ,was arrested and booked early Friday on criminal trespassing. He had tried to enter Swift’s home in Belle Meade by climbing a fence and making it past the security gates.

When he finally ran into a security guard, he told the guard that he was keeping in contact with the owner of the home through social media and that they were dating. He added that he wanted to surprise her for her birthday. Swift turned 23 on Thursday.

Police found him with a knife. He said he traveled all the way from Wisconsin on a bus, then took a taxi from Nashville.

TMZ reports that Kulke does have a criminal record, having been convicted of battery, disorderly conduct and drug possession in 2010 in Wisconsin. He was sentenced to 13 months probation.

He was also arrested in Colorado for burglary in April.

NewsChannel5 found a Twitter account belonging to a Jake Kulke with a happy birthday message to Swift as his last tweet.

He is being held on $10,000 bond at Davidson County jail.

Swift was not home at the time. She spent her birthday in England with her new boyfriend, One Direction’s Harry Styles.
