Martin Scorsese collaborates with Bill Clinton on presidential documentary

By Kristen Spicker,

Martin Scorsese is teaming up with former U.S. President Bill Clinton for an HBO documentary.

“I am pleased that legendary director Martin Scorsese and HBO have agreed to do this film," Clinton said in the statement Monday according to USA Today. "I look forward to sharing my perspective on my years as president, and my work in the years since, with HBO's audience.”

The film plans to focus on Clinton’s work and influence as a politician, continue to follow his involvement with politics after his presidency.

“A towering figure who remains a major voice in world issues, President Clinton continues to shape the political dialogue both here and around the world," Scorsese said according to The Huffington Post. "Through intimate conversations, I hope to provide greater insight into this transcendent figure.”

HBO produced another presidential documentary earlier this year titled 41. Unlike Scorsese’s Clinton documentary, 41 focused on the personal and family life of George H. W. Bush, not his presidency.

Scorsese has worked with HBO multiple times, including two other documentaries titled Public Speaking and George Harrison: Living in the Material World.
