Martin Scorsese is to create a new documentary. The documentary is about Bill Clinton, the 42nd President of the United States. Clinton is excited about the Scorsese project and has been very cooperative. The HBO movie is meant to be more of a drama then a political documentary.
According to Huffington Post, Scorsese called Bill Clinton, "a towering figure who remains a major voice in world issues." He added, "President Clinton continues to shape the political dialogue both here and around the world…Through intimate conversations, I hope to provide greater insight into this transcendent figure."
“I am pleased that legendary director Martin Scorsese and HBO have agreed to do this film,” Clinton said in a statement, according to The Clicker on Today. Clinton also added, “I look forward to sharing my perspective on my years as president and my work in the years since with HBO’s audience.”
The New York Postreported that HBO chief Richard Plepler said, “This documentary, under Marty’s gifted direction, creates a unique opportunity for the president to reflect on myriad issues that have consumed his attention and passion throughout both his presidency and post-presidency."
Neither Scorsese's agent or HBO will reveal the title of the documentary nor comment if Monica Lewinsky and the 1998 scandal that followed will be in the movie.
