Mel Grieg, Michael Christian seek counseling following death of Nurse Jacintha Saldanha

By Sarah Burbank-Douglas,

Mel Grieg and Michael Christian are seeking counseling following the suicide of Nurse Jacintha Saldanha who tragically took her own life after the two DJs put in a prank call to the King Edward VII Hospital where the Duchess of Cambridge was being treated for severe morning sickness.

News of the suicide broke Friday just days after Grieg and Christian put in the prank phone call which revealed details of Kate Middleton’s condition as well as treatment given.

While the Duchess and her husband Prince William were reportedly not upset by the phone call, Saldanha was unfortunately found dead at an address close to the hospital.

Following news of Saldanha’s death, Grieg and Christian stepped down from their positions indefinitely and are now reportedly seeking counseling.

Rhys Holleran, the Austrailian radio network’s chief executive, stated that the two former hosts were “understandably incredibly distraught, too, and we’re concerned for both their well-being,” New York Times reports.

“I spoke to both presenters early this morning, and it’s fair to say they’re completely shattered. These people aren’t machines, they’re human beings. We’re all affected by this,” he adds.
