NBC passes on 'Mockingbird Lane,' Bryan Fuller tweets disappointment

By Sarah Burbank-Douglas,

Excited Mockingbird Lane fans will be extremely disappointed to learn that creator Bryan Fuller has informed that NBC network has stopped plans to create the Munsters spinoff.

According to SeattlePi, Fuller announced the news via Twitter on Thursday.

“I tweet with a heavy heart. NBC not moving forward with #MockingbirdLane. From producers and cast, thank you all for enthusiasm and support,” he wrote.

The series was expected to see the likes of Portia de Rossi, Jerry O’Connell and Eddie Izzard. X Men: First Class producer Bryan Singer was slated to executive produce the series.

As we previously reported, the reboot was constantly on edge when reports surfaced that the show was passed on following the competition of a pilot. Fuller then informed fans that the reports were untrue tweeting, “#MOCKINGBIRDLANE LIVES!”

The pilot ended up airing as a Halloween Special, drawing in 5.4 million viewers and a 1.5 18-49 rating. Unfortunately the network has passed on the plans.
