Winston who? Lamorne Morris, the star of Fox’s hit show, New Girl, shows off his bling by spoofing Trinidad James’s “All Gold Everything.”
As Belizean James, Morris dons a leopard shirt and an Afro, in addition to the stereotypical chains that rappers sport in their music videos.
Atlanta rapper, Trinidad James, had just signed with Def Jam recently, sparking debate among the hip hop community, as pointed out by CBS Local. When “All Gold Everything” debuted on YouTube on October 17, it started what some considered the quickest ascension in hip hop, according to Rolling Stone.
Trinidad had released a music video so hilarious that a YouTube viewer commented he was “setting Blacks back centuries since 2012.”
So, it’s only fitting that a slew of YouTube videos make a parody of “All Gold Everything.”
Like Trinidad, Morris recreates almost every scene, including a scene where he parades a puppy around in “No Gold Anything.”
Morris raps in the same manner as James and runs with a posse who seems to think that a shopping cart is a form of transportation.
Additionally, Morris dishes nonsense like, “Don’t believe me. Chickenpox. N***a n***a n***a” all the while beatboxing.
In other scenes, the almost unrecognizable New Girl actor wears a panda beanie and a Nike knockoff jersey with “BROKE” on it.
And on that note, who feels itchy after watching this music video?
