New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has been chosen by Barbara Walters as one of this year’s Most Fascinating People, but with that, comes the unavoidable scrutiny in the press.
Christie’s weight has been a topic of discussion since he took office, and the many rumors about the possibility of him running for president one day had Walters inquiring into whether or not he thinks his weight would affect the stresses of the job should he be elected.
When the veteran journalist asks Christie, "Are you a little overweight?" He responds, "More than a little,” USA Today reports.
But that doesn’t mean he thinks it affects anything.
“I’ve done this job pretty well,” Christie said. “I think people watched me for the last number of weeks during Hurricane Sandy doing 18-hour days and getting back up the next day and still being just as effective in the job, so i don’t think that will be a problem,” Washington Post reports.
Walters' 10 Most Fascinating People of 2012 special airs tonight on ABC at 9:30pm.
