A new trailer for Man of Steel, director Zack Snyder’s take on the Superman character, has hit the web today, giving fans a more detailed look at the film, which will not be out until June 2013.
The trailer shows that the Watchmen director’s film will touch on many of the familiar themes found in past Superman films. We see a young Clark Kent figuring out how to use his powers and the older Clark, played by Henry Cavill, trying to find out where he came from. (Spoiler: He’s from Krypton.) Fans can also spot Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as the Kents, Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Michael Shannon as General Zod. There’s also glimpses of the film’s other stars, including Russell Crowe and Christopher Meloni, notes Entertainment Weekly.
Man of Steel is also being produced by Dark Knight Rises director Christopher Nolan, who brought his sense of realism to the project. “There’s a logic and concreteness that has to exist with Chris...You can’t just do stuff because it’s cool. He demands that there be story and character behind all of it, which I’m a big fan of,” Snyder told the New York Post last month.
You can check out the new trailer below. Man of Steel is due in theaters on June 14, 2013.
