New Mexico men plotted to castrate and murder Justin Bieber, police say

By Daniel S Levine,

New Mexico police say that two men plotted to murder Justin Bieber and his bodyguard after being ordered to do so by a convicted killer one of them met in prison.

According to New Mexico’s KRQE, investigators say that Mark Staake and his nephew Tanner Ruane planned to murder Bieber and three other people. Staake had met convicted killer Dana Martin at a state prison. Martin, who was convicted of raping and murdering a 15-year-old girl in Vermont in 2000, gave Staake a list of people to murder after Staake was released from prison.

Staake was told to strangle the victims and then Ruane, who Staake recruited to help him, would castrate the victims. The first two were supposed to be acquaintances of Martin in Vermont. Then, they were to head to New York, where Bieber was performing at Madison Square Garden last month. Staake and Ruane planned to kill Bieber and a bodyguard.

Staake made it to Vermont, where he was arrested on outstanding warrants, but Ruane did make it to New York, where he was arrested.

Police only found out about the plot when Martin told them about it, notes TMZ. He’s an obsessed Belieber and even has a tattoo of the pop star. Clearly, he had some second thoughts about plotting to murder his idol.

Bieber’s reps did not comment when KRQE contacted them.

Bieber recently released the single “Beauty and the Beat.”
