Rapper Lil Flip arrested with drugs and assault rifle

Houston rapper Lil Flip was arrested in Louisiana after police found drugs and an assault rifle in his vehicle.

According to The Shreveport Times, Flip, whose real name is Wesley Eric Weston, was arrested for driving 86mph in a 75mph zone. Upon searching the 2010 Dodge Challenger, deputies found marijuana and a Bushmaster AR-15 assault rifle, Sgt. Chato Atkins informs.

The 31-year-old rapper had a passenger with him at the time, Olanza Sanders.

Both Sanders and Flip were taken to jail following the stop; Flip was booked on a third offense charge of illegal drug possession, speeding and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled substance. Sanders was booked on charges of illegal possession of firearm by a convicted felon, the report states.

Additionally, Shreveport Times notes that the rapper was still in jail Thursday morning pending a $35,300 bail. Sanders is reportedly free on a $25,000 bond.
