Rihanna to star in and executive produce reality fashion competition show with Style Network

Rihanna and the Style Network have partnered up to work on Styled to Rock, a reality fashion competition show that the singer will star in and executive produce.

Rihanna will pick 12 young, hopeful designers trying to make their way into the fashion world who will then create designs for celebrity guest performers, reports Examiner. The guests will help decide who remains on the show and who will get cast off.

"Rihanna is a trailblazer, a trendsetter and the epitome of style. She has a powerful and unique point-of-view that transcends every aspect of pop culture, including fashion, and is a leading creative force," President of Style Media Salaam Coleman Smith said, as quoted by The Huffington Post.

"On the heels of our successful network rebrand, ‘Styled to Rock’ and Style’s new partnership with Rihanna will reinvent the fashion competition genre, fueling our viewers insatiable appetite for all things style," Smith continued.

The concept for the show was originally debuted by Rihanna earlier this year in the U.K. but despite the not so good ratings, the singer is excited for the new show.

"Fashion has always played an integral part in my life and career. I am so excited to partner with Style Network and share my creative insight with these 12 designers and give them this opportunity to showcase their work," Rihanna said.

Styled to Rock will have 10 episodes running an hour long, premiering in 2013. The search for the designers is currently underway nationwide.
