Robert Griffin III , the starting quarterback for the Washington Redskins, has sold the most jerseys in the national football league. His No. 10 jersey actually sold even more than any other player’s since six years ago, when the league stated keeping track.
Brett Favre, a recently retired quarterback who played for the Green Bay Packers, New York Jets, and finally the Minnesota Vikings, had the previous record for most sold jerseys in two different years. According to ESPN, Favre held a record for most jerseys sold while he played for the Jets in 2008 and Vikings in 2009.
This gives Redskins’ fans even more to be joyful for other than their five game winning streak. It’s been a while since the last time they made the playoffs so this is a big treat for the fans.
According to the Washington Post, the NFL uses the NFLShop.com as a metric to count the amount of jerseys sold and see who topped amongst the players each year.
