Ricky Rubio, a guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves, has been injured ever since March 9 of last year. Rubio is known for his excellent dribbling skills and his ability to get his whole team involved.
Rubio’s return is coming at a perfect time for the Timberwolves. They haven’t had the success they were looking for when players like Kevin Love and Brandon Roy sustained injuries earlier in the season. According to StarTribune , Rubio said after the announcement, “I’m excited to get back on the floor with my teammates and play in front of the best fans in the NBA at Target Center. After a long recovery, this is the first step in my getting back on the court and helping my teammates. Thank you to the fans for their support over the last nine months.’’
With more pieces of the team returning, it gives them a chance to win more games. Tonight Rubio and the Timberwolves play the Dallas Mavericks
When head coach Rick Adelman was asked how he would treat Rubio’s return to the team, the Associated Press reports that Adelman said he would be careful about the amount of minutes that Rubio plays. As coach he hopes that he can manage the risk of Rubio re-injuring his knee and having to sit out once more.
