It looks like Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World will have a break from S.H.I.E.L.D. as Nick Fury actor Samuel L. Jackson has stated that his next appearance will be in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
This may come as a surprise since Jackson has appeared in every film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe besides 2008’s The Incredible Hulk.
“I think my next my next time as Nick Fury is in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, because I’m not in Iron Man 3. None of the Avengers are in Iron Man 3. It’s a standalone Iron Man film,” Jackson told TotalFilm, according to Cinema Blend.
Other characters that will reprise their roles in the sequel to Captain America: The First Avenger are Chris Evans as Captain America, Scarlett Johannson as Black Widow, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes.
The film will introduce new characters including Anthony Mackie as the Falcon and Frank Grillo as Crossbones.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier will hit theaters April 4, 2014.
