Family Guy creator and voice actor Seth MacFarlane is crossing into another cartoon show and will soon be making a guest appearance on The Simpsons.
MacFarlane, who will host this year’s Academy Awards, will voice a character who tries to win the affections of Homer Simpson’s wife, Marge, in an episode called “Dangers on a Train.”
EW confirms MacFarlane’s guest spot, and reports that the episode will air as the season 25 premiere sometime next fall.
“We wanted to come together in a bipartisan way to make Fox Sunday night rock,” said the show’s executive producer Al Jean. “This was all very fun.”
Jean says of MacFarlane’s wooing Marge, “A lot of him trying to go after her is over the phone, so it’s a perfect part for someone with his voice.”
The Hollywood Reporter writes that MacFarlane has lent his voice to other cartoons before, having been on Futurama in the past, which was created by Simpsons creator Matt Groening.
Additionally, the voice of Homer, Dan Castellaneta, has been on Family Guy before.
