Seth MacFarlane plans to bring 'Family Guy' to the big screen

By Slater Katz,

Family Guy creator and voice of the popular character Stewie, Seth MacFarlane has plans to take Family Guy from the TV screen to the big screen! MacFarlane has confirmed the crude cartoon is in the process of becoming a major motion picture.

According to NME.com, while speaking at UCLA, MacFarlane responded to students pressing questions about the possibility of a Family Guy movie, saying “it’s just a matter of when.”

The Simpsons Movie has been a helpful resource in creating the ideal format for transitioning his TV show to a movie. While he felt the movie was a comic success, he feels the story line didn’t differ from what could have easily been done on TV. MacFarlane told the students, according to Totalfilm.com, “That’s the challenge with animation. You pretty much can do any story you want, so what is the reason for the movie? We finally hit on the answer to that question, and it will be something that would be impossible to do on TV.”

MacFarlane is keeping his lips sealed firmly, disputing questions with “I can’t tell you what that this.”
