The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is just ten short days away but, to tide you over, Warner Bros. has revealed six new clips from the film.
The clips feature the dwarves and Gandalf (Ian McKellan) arriving at Bilbo’s (Martin Freeman) home in the Shire, a skirmish in the woods with some wolves, Elrond (Hugo Weaving) talking history, a battle with orcs and a fateful meeting between Bilbo and Gollum (Andy Serkis). Check them all out at ComingSoon.net.
In other Middle Earth related news, Indie Wire reports that the first reviews for Peter Jackson’s first prequel are in and they are, sadly, mixed.
Critics all over the place are saying it takes too long to get used to the 48fps and compare it to a BBC TV movie.
As for the film itself, the general consensus seems to be that it is good but too long and not quite as engaging or exciting as the first entry in the last trilogy, The Fellowship of the Ring, despite sharing many of the same plot points.
You will be able to form your own opinion however when The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey hits theaters December 14.
