Fans will see a Snow White and the Huntsmen sequel, despite the media frenzy surrounding Kristen Stewart’s highly publicized summer affair with Huntsmen director, Rupert Sanders.
According to Contact Music, the extramarital affair brought a significant amount of attention to the film which pushed the decision to create a sequel.
However, Sanders will not return to direct.
As we previously reported, Sanders wife, Liberty Ross, flat out stated that she would not allow her husband to return to direct a sequel should one be in the works.
Stewart revealed the news of a sequel during an interview with Indiewire, Contact Music notes, she explained at the time she is “totally not allowed to talk about it.” She later added, “And we’ve got a really amazing… [smiles] So, yeah. It’s all good.”
News of a potential sequel was first reported by Deadline back in April, naming David Koepp as the screenwriter for the film.
There have not been talks of a beginning filming date or release date as of yet.
