Jennifer Nettles, one half of the country duo Sugarland, and husband Justin Miller have welcomed their first child, baby boy Magnus Hamilton Miller.
“We are so thankful for all the prayers and support and are excited to take some time together as a new family,” Nettles said in a statement, reports The Boot.
Nettles and Miller announced the pregnancy in June. “They are thrilled beyond belief,” manager Gail Gellman told People at the time.
She spoke to People in September. “I just feel good to rest,” she said during her final trimester. “[But] things are starting to get a little uncomfortable, if you will!” During the pregnancy, Nettles was a judge for ABC’s singing competition Duets.
Nettles and Miller met in 2006, when he was still a model and can be seen in the video for “Want To.” He is now an entrepreneur.
Guitarist Kristian Bush, who has a son and a daughter himself, told The Boot that even though Nettles will need to take a break, the band is not calling it quits.
“Jennifer and I are not finished making records. We know that,” Bush told the site. He added that, as a parent, he can understand that she will need to take a breather.
“I love her more than anything in the world, and I will do whatever it takes to make sure her life adjusts so she can become the best possible mom she can be,” Bush added.
