Taylor Swift, Jonas Brothers, Will.i.am and more perform at KIIS-FM's Jingle Ball

KIIS-FM held the first part of their annual Jingle Ball event in Los Angeles’ Nokia Theater on Saturday night.

Taylor Swift headlined the concert, with the Jonas Brothers, Sammy Adams, OneRepublic, Ellie Goulding, Ne-Yo and special guest Will.i.am also performing. Maroon 5 was slated to be the guest, but Levine came down with strep throat the morning of the event.

The Hollywood Reporter writes that at the Ball, which celebrates this year in music and of course, the holiday season, Maroon 5’s James Valentine and PJ Morton came out on stage with DJ Jojo to explain what happened with Levine.

“Maroon 5 was indeed the surprised guest tonight,” Valentine explained to the crowd. “We woke up this morning and found out Adam (Levine) has a bad case of strep throat.”

Morton added, “So we’re really sad we can't play tonight but we didn't want to leave you empty handed... We have another surprise guest. Better than we would ever be.”

When Will.i.am came out, he sang Black Eyed Peas songs “Boom Boom Pow” and “Dirty Bit,” his own rendition of Usher’s “OMG” and his single “This Is Love” before closing with his Britney Spears duet “Scream and Shout.”

Entertainmentwise reports that Swift performed her hits from Red, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and “I Knew You Were Trouble,” while the Jonas Brothers covered Frank Ocean's “Thinkin 'Bout You.”

Also on hand for the event were the six finalists from The X Factor as well as Dancing With The Stars’ Derek Hough and Shawn Johnson.
