Taylor Swift might be known for her long list of boyfriends and hit albums, but she is also one of the most charitable celebrities, donating to several causes close to her heart. For that, the country star has been named the most charitable celebrity of 2012.
The “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” singer topped DoSomething.org’s list of “Celebs Gone Good,” thanks to her Ripple of Hope Award from the Robert F. Kennedy Center, which recognizes her charity work. The 23-year-old is the youngest recipient of that award. Back in May, she donated $4 million to the Country Music Hall of Fame. That donation will help build the Taylor Swift Education Center, which will help educate children. DoSomething.org also recognized Swift’s efforts to help young people fight cancer.
As iVillage.com notes, former Disney Channel star Miley Cyrus earned the No. 2 spot, thanks to her work for Saving Spot! Rescue, which helps find dogs in shelters a home. She also participated in the TOMS’ One Day Without Shoes challenge and has made donations to Save The Music Foundation, Make a Wish Foundation and others.
The Sexiest Man Alive came in third. Channing Tatum has Angels For Animals and donated millions to the Rainforest Foundation.
The rest of the Top 10 includes Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts, Pink, LeBron James, Selena Gomez and Ian Somerhalder.
