Taylor Swift named most Charitable Celebrity of 2012

Country starlet Taylor Swift has been named the Most Charitable Celebrity of 2012.

According to Celebuzz, Swift was chosen by DoSomething.org following her numerous charitable efforts which included a $4 million donation to the Country Hall of Fame museum, a $10,000 donation to the Boston school of the Deaf among many other fantastic contributions.

The website reveals the top 20, which includes the likes of NFL star Drew Brees, actresses Sofia Vergara and Olivia Munn and singer Carrie Underwood.

Singer/actress Miley Cyrus followed behind Swift taking second place for her contributions to Saving Spot! Rescue, a non-profit organization which works to find dogs in high-kill shelters and find them a home. The organization also notes Cyrus’ dedication to “One Day Without Shoes” in which the “Can’t be Tamed” singer went without shoes to support the cause. The newly engaged actress was also honored by PETA for her 20th birthday when they gifted her Nora, a rescued pig following Cyrus’ advocating for animal rights.

Father-to-be Channing Tatum took third followed by Lady Gaga in fourth with an estimated $1.2 million donation in addition to her Born This Way Bus which helps teach teens and young adults about bullying in addition to helping others of acceptance of the LGBT community.
