USA Network’s ‘Psych’ picked up for eighth season

USA Network confirmed Wednesday Psych has been renewed for an eighth season.

The official Psych Twitter page announced the show’s renewal on Wednesday:

According to the Hollywood Reporter the seventh season is slated to air starting in February and will feature 16 episodes, including the 100th episode. The season features a two-hour special musical episode.

Season 8 will reportedly have only eight episodes. It is unknown at this time if season 8 will be the final season, but it is a possibility.

Psych focuses on Shawn (James Roday), a fake psychic who solves crimes as a police consultant with his best friend Gus (Dulé Hill).

The seventh season will feature various guest stars including Garcelle Beauvais, Parminder Nagra, and Anthony Michael Hall, as we previously reported.

Ally Sheedy (Yang) is returning to the show for a guest appearance on the musical episode according to TV Line. Other guest stars appearing in the episode include Barry Bostwick, Brooke Lyons, and Anthony Rapp.

The seventh season will premiere February 27, 2013 on USA.
