The mid-season finale is one filled with betrayal and heartbreak as individuals realized who they can trust, especially the hybrid men of our show. Klaus is thrown completely off guard when he discovers that his hybrids were planning to take him out. His rage gets the better of him as he is forced to murder every single one of them. In his search for Tyler he comes across Carol and decides to make Tyler pay for his actions by taking away his closest loved one. I do not know how Tyler will deal with his mother’s death, but it’s not going to be pretty. Caroline will definitely have a hard time mending his grieving heart.
Also this week, Damon and Elena head over to the Gilbert summer home to help Jeremy deal with his hunter issues. Bonnie and Professor Shane are also there, but his hypnosis proves useless in Jeremy’s situation. It’s Damon’s idea of Bonnie serving as Jeremy’s sense of balance that ultimately helps Jeremy deal with his hunter problems.
While at the summer home, Professor Shane also reveals that he knows where the cure is located, since he’s been there before. This leads Damon to be very suspicious as it’s revealed that Professor Shane might have had something to do with the twelve council member’s death. Not to mention he also had his hand in the planning of the twelve hybrids deaths this week.
Later, with Jeremy under control and normal again, Damon finally musters up the courage to tell Elena to stay away from him despite loving her so much. He’s been feeling guilty all day for lying to Stefan, but unfortunately there are confrontations coming up in the New Year since Caroline spilled the beans to Stefan about how intimate Elena and Damon have become.
I feel so bad for Klaus, even though he murdered all of the hybrids. Just like Rebekah, he just wants to feel wanted and not alone. Speaking of Rebekah, she’ll be making her comeback as I believe April (who’s aware of supernatural presences now in Mystic Falls) will have endangered her. I wonder who Rebekah will be visiting first upon coming back from the dead yet again. There’s bound to be more trouble brewing in relation to Professor Shane as well. He’s a shady one. Thoughts on the mid-season finale anyone? I wonder if the gang will actually find the cure or not.
