Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show powers CBS to Tuesday ratings win

Ratings for CBS’ annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show may have been down from last year, the show performed well enough to give CBS a ratings victory in viewers and in the key demographic. Comedies didn’t do so well for Fox and ABC, although ABC’s shows did earn decent jumps.

CBS averaged 10.16 million viewers and a 2.8 18-49 rating for the night. Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer kicked off the night with just over 10 million viewers and a 2.9 18-49 rating. Next was an NCIS repeat that drew 11.06 million viewers and a 2.0 18-49 rating. The Victoria’s Secret special drew 9.32 million viewers and a 3.4 18-49 rating. That was down 24 percent from last year, notes The Hollywood Reporter.

NBC actually came in second in viewers, averaging 7.33 million and a 2.4 18-49 rating, notes HitFix. The Voice was down from last week, but still have 11.33 million viewers and a 3.4 18-49 rating. Go On followed with just under 7 million viewers and a 2.5 18-49 rating, while The New Normal had 4.59 million viewers and a 2.0 18-49 rating. Parenthood capped off the night with 4.9 million viewers and a 1.7 18-49 rating.

ABC had just 4.82 million viewers and a 1.4 18-49 rating. A special Shark Tank had 6.86 million viewers and a 1.7 key demo rating. Happy Endings had 3.5 million viewers and a 1.3 18-49 rating, an 18 percent jump, even without Dancing with the Stars, notes The Wrap. Don’t Trust The B--- In Apt. 23 was also up to 3 million viewers and a 1.2 18-49 rating. Private Practice had 4.4 million viewers and a 1.2 18-49 rating.

Fox’s comedies averaged just 3.29 million viewers and a 1.5 18-49 rating, with all four experiencing drops. Raising Hope had 3.7 million viewers and a 1.4 18-49 rating, while Ben & Kate had 2.67 million viewers and a 1.1 rating. New Girl had 4.14 million and a 2.0 18-49 rating, while earned 2.63 million viewers and a 1.3 18-49 rating.

The CW’s Hart of Dixie and Emily Owens, MD averaged 1.63 million viewers and a 0.5 18-49 rating.
