The Voice: Top 4 Semi Finals

By Chelsea Lewis ,

Next week America will find out which vocalist will be named the Voice but first the top four artists had to perform in order to win America’s vote. A large announcement was made at the start of the show, instead of two artists going to the finals, the top three artists from the semi-finals will advance to the finale.

To open the show, Michael Buble performed a hit off his best selling Christmas album, “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).”

Trevin Hunte took the stage first with his rendition of, “Wind Beneath My Wings.” Starting off the coaches’ comments was Levine saying that Green did the right thing by picking this song for Hunte. Aguilera said that this song really took her back personally and that she has never heard that song reach that level before. Green added that he has seen Hunte progress and grow as a person and a performer.

Following Hunte was Nicholas David. David performed “You Are So Beautiful,” which he dedicated to his growing family. Levine said that David is one of the most soulful people that he has ever met and his music transcends. Green started off by saying that David looked very handsome and that this was the right direction to go in with the performance.

Before the remaining two-team members for Team Blake took the stage, the entire former team of season three took to the stage with Shelton to perform the Christmas classic, “White Christmas.”

Cassadee Pope took the stage next representing Team Blake. Pope took on the Keith Urban classic, “Stupid Boy.” Aguilera started off the judges’ comments by saying that Pope’s vocal performance was on point and stunning. Shelton added that the reason Pope has done country songs on the show is because Pope can connect with lyrics in any song.

Closing the show was Terry McDermott from Team Blake. McDermott performed, “Let It Be,” by the Beatles. Levine said that McDermott did an incredible job with that song. Shelton said that in his heart he believed that the performance was musical perfection.

The live results show will be on NBC tomorrow evening, only three artists will advance to the finale next week.
