If you haven’t gotten all of your holiday shopping done just yet, Facebook is prepared to help. Today, the social network launched its new “Gifts” feature for U.S. users.
Just in time for the holiday season, Facebook has added a new feature that allows users to buy presents for their friends without even leaving the site. According to Fox News, millions of users have been testing out this new feature for the past two months.
When visiting friends' profiles, users can now expect to see a “Gifts” option near where they would usually post on their wall. Simply click on the icon, choose a gift to send, add payment information and click send. The recipient of the gift will then be able to add in their shipping information, size and color preferences and other useful information.
Facebook has partnered with babyGap, iTunes, Brookston, as well as many others for this feature. The “Gifts” feature also allows users to make donations to the Robin Hood Foundation’s Hurricane Sandy fund Red Cross, and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
The social network hopes to change the way presents are shared this holiday season.
