The Writers Guild of America has announced their nominations for their awards ceremony in all of the television categories, with Breaking Bad and Modern Family leading the way.
The drama series category is filled with favorites with Boardwalk Empire, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Homeland and Mad Men all receiving nominations. Note that not one network drama scored a nomination.
In the episode category, Breaking Bad scored four of the six with "Buyout," "Dead Freight," "Fifty-One" and "Say My Name."
The other two went to Homeland’s "New Car Smell" and Mad Men’s "The Other Woman."
According to The Hollywood Reporter critical darling Downton Abbey is not eligible under the WGA.
The comedy series nominations are 30 Rock, Girls, Louie, Modern Family and Parks and Recreation.
In the comedy episode category Modern Family scored three of the six nominations for "Little Bo Bleep," "Mystery Date" and "Virgin Territory."
The others went to Parks and Recreation’s "The Debate," Episodes’ "Episode 9" and 30 Rock’s "Leap Day."
In the new series category, HBO snagged three of the nominees with Girls, The Newsroom and Veep with the other two nominations being for The Mindy Project and Nashville.

The WGA ceremony will take place Sunday February 17.
